So far this calendar year, Nipsey Hussle’s debut retail album, Victory Lap, is the stand out project as far as the Hip Hop & Rap genres are concerned in my opinion.  The record features many stand out cuts, I’d have to say my favorite 3 are “Rap Niggas,” “Last Time That I Checc’d,” and “Hussle and Motivate.”  Neighborhood Nip has definitely not disappointed with his debut album, which I was hoping would be the case.

The jawn, “Hussle and Motivate,” is smooth, motivating track, and it also features a sample Hip Hop fans are probably familiar with from the Jay-Z record “Hard Knock Life.”  The sample is from the classic movie, Annie, and not only is it a dope sample, it’s dope for the following reason.  When Jay-Z cleared the original sample, he made it a point to clear it in such a way any artist after him could use the sample.  Talk about a boss move and a dope gesture for those that come after him, that’s why he’s a legend, my friends.

Check out the official video for “Hussle & Motivate” below, and if you haven’t peeped Victory Lap yet, I highly suggest you give it a listen. #YaDig
